First Edition. 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches in a contemporary 1/2 leather and pebbled cloth. ix, [2], 307, [1] pages, 8 pages of plates and illustrations, including frontispiece (portrait) , folded map, colored in outline. Ferguson, 18187; Wantrup, 201. "Warburton was a British military officer, Commissioner of Police for South Australia, and an Australian explorer. In 1872 he sealed his legacy through a particularly epic expedition from Adelaide crossing the arid center of Australia to the coast of Western Australia via Alice Springs " (Wiki) Condition: Map is 33 by 11 1/2 inches, colored in outline; neat paper tape repairs to folds on verso; 3 inch closed tear in upper right quadrant. There is scuffing to leather at joints and corners; leather label lacking. Contents clean and complete; binding solid.
