Evelyn (John). Numismata. A Discourse of Medals, Antient and Modern. Together with some account of heads and effigies of illustrious, and famous persons, in sculps, and taille-douce, of whom we have no medals extant..., London: Benj. Tooke, 1697, title in red & black with early signature to upper margin of R. Antrobus and small round blind stamp within title, mounted engraved portrait frontispiece (from a later work), engraved illustrations to text (that on U1 verso overlaid), bookplates to upper pastedown including that of George Chetwynd, later cloth hinges to endpapers, contemporary speckled calf, crude reback, rubbed and some wear, folio (Keynes 104; Kress 2027; Wing E3505), together with: Fréart de Chambray (Roland), A Parallel of the Ancient Architecture with the Modern, in a collection of ten principal authors who have written upon the five orders, Viz. Palladio and Scamozzi, Serlio and Vignola, D. Barbaro and Cataneo, L. B. Alberti and Viola, Bullant and De Lorme, Compared ..., To which is added, An account of architects and architecture, in an Historical and Etymological Explanation of certain Terms particularly affected by Architects. With Leon Baptista Alberti’s Treatise of Statues. By John Evelyn, 2 parts in one, London: Printed by T. W. for J. Walthoe, D. Midwinter, and A.
