Title printed in red and black with engraved vignette of an anatomical theater, Engraved portrait of Lancisi, 21 engraved anatomical plates by J. G. Seiller. Contemporary blind-tooled pigskin, gold-stamped coat of arms with initials P.G.R. at center of covers, edges red-sprinkled. Condition : Some browning and finger-soiling, one or two marginal tears. First Geneva edition of Eustachi's anatomical designs, published as volume two of Jean-Jacques Manget's Theatrum anatomicum (Geneva 1716-1717). Eustachi had prepared a series of engravings in 1552 to illustrate a projected work on dissection and anatomy, which was left unfinished at his death. The majority of the plates were not published until Giovanni Maria Lancisi discovered them and published them with his notes in 1714.
