ESSEX HOUSE PRESS -- Charles Robert ASHBEE American Sheaves & English Seed Corn: being a Series of Addresses mainly delivered in the United States, 1900-1901 . London: Essex House Press, 1901. 4° (207 x 136mm). A little red printing, fine large woodcut initials, drawing, in brown ink, of a cornflower at end. Brown morocco by G. H. [Guild of Handicrafts], compartments of spine panelled in gilt, double fillet round sides with, at centre, a large arabesque ornament composed of small and large foliate tools and a central rose, rough edges gilt. ONE OF 300 COPIES, this one no.1. A small gilt tool between the G. and H. inside the back cover closely resembles the drawing of the cornflower. Tomkinson 72/21.
