The treatise, dedicated to Isabella d'Este, to whom Equicola was tutor for many years, combines elements derived from Marsilio Ficino with stylnovistic echoes. 8vo (145 x 86mm). Woodcut title within an elaborate border, K6v with woodcut diagram depicting the ideal proportions of the body, with final blank (title lightly cropped, some light foxing, gathering R browned). 18th-century half vellum, dark spine label titles in gilt, blue edges (few tiny wormholes and light scuffing).
