9mm rimfire caliber, 22.5" barrel, S/N 58838. Blued finish with case hardened bolt, checkered forend and grip. Bead front sight. Barrel marked with caliber and smokeless powder proofs. Receiver marked with "MANUFACTURE D'ARMES ET CYCLES DE ST ETIENNE" manufacturing mark, serial number, and "CARABINE POPULAIRE". Barrel and receiver engraved with attractive floral motifs, as is bolt. Condition: Good. Barrel retains most of its deep blue finish with some light scratching and thinning. Case hardening shows some wear on working surfaces but still retains an attractive mix of color. Stock has some scattered marks and blemishes with some finish loss from age and use, but still retains good definition to checkering and free of serious cracks and splits. Bore is fair; some old fouling and storage dust, could clean to better.
