Mounted in photo corners to album boards, most with caption in German in white ink above image on the mount, bound in contemporary album with gilt-stamped titel MIT KREUZER EMDEN rund um die Welt 1926-1928 . This album documents various trips around the world. It contains images of the Emden as a training ship from 1926 - 1928. Another group of images shows a voyage with the war ship Deutschland from the1930s - 1940s. The album was compiled as a souvenir by the sailor Hermann Schulte aboard the training ship Emden , whose portrait is on the first page. Other portraits show Captain z.S. Richard Foerster and other members of the staff. Nearly all the stops of the ship are shown through photos and postcards and include Spain, Teneriffa, Santa Cruz, St. Helena, Cape Town, Mombasa, the Seychelles, Sumatra, Java, Yokohama, Tokio, Hakodate, Aliuten, Alaska, Seattle, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Chile, Tierra del Feugo, Bahia, Rio de Janiero, Haiti, the Azores, Venice, Sicily and many others. A small group of images show a catapult-plane . This album also contains documents such as a newspaper from 1935, a certificate of a line crossing ceremony, a world map with ship stops and dates of the Emden's first trip 1926 - 1928 and another world map shows the same trip with a hand-drawn route of the war ship Deutschland . Some images show the Emden meeting with other ships including the cruisers Schlesien , Hessen , the warships Deutschland, Köln as well as images of the Emden itself. – Some prints with light surface buckling, some with fading/oxidation mirroring in edges, otherwise most in good condition with strong contrasts.
