Embroidered Sabbath tablecloth. [Ottoman Empire, early 20th century]. Linen, embroidery and metal threads. Square tablecloth covered with embroidery in shades of orange, green, purple and light blue. A Star of David in the center with the word "Zion", surrounded by the words "Lichvod Shabbat" (faulty) and "Yerushalayim". Decorations in vegetal and geometric motifs. Along the margins - metal- threads embroidery. Possibly this Mappah served as a Hallah Cover. 44X44 cm. Fair condition. Wear, unraveling, stains. Literature: 1.
