Typed letter signed to Harvey Breit, editor of New York Times Book Review, wherein Eliot is obliged to inform Mr. Breit that he cannot oblige their request to publish his Theorore Spencer lecture.New York: 29 Nov 1950. 1 page (285 x 180 mm). Condition: usual folds.
Eliot writes "I am honored by the suggestion that the New York Times Book Review should publish my Theodore Spencer lecture, but I had already made my arrangements. The lecture will, I think, be published in pamphlet form by the Memorial Committee. But meanwhile they have authorized its serial publication in the Atlantic monthly." Original typed envelope addressed to Mr. Breit, and postmarked Cambridge, MA., is included.
