Eleven various wood and ivory rules and measures, a rare 12in. ivory and brass folding rule signed Iohn* 1730 Oliphant ; a late 18th-Century (?)French ivory folding 22in. rule, unsigned ,in seven sections, in a green shagreen case with push-button catch -- 11cm. (4in.) high ; a late 18th-Century ivory and silver 2x6in. sector signed GILBERT & C O LONDON ; an unusual boxwood, brass and iron folding 2x12in. multiple rule, with indistinct signature and LIVERPOOL , a sliding brass section for reading against a scale marked repeatedly SQUARE CYLINDER GLOBE , with further tables of values for cubic in., cubic ft., old wine, imperial gallon, water, gold and silver; an early 20th-Century brass and fruitwood rope/cable caliper stamped BRUNTONS (MUSSELBURGH) LTD MUSSELBURGH SCOTLAND -- 12.3cm. (4 7/8in.) long ; a 19th-Century brass and boxwood 12½in. customs and excise slide rule, signed J. LONG MAKER 20 LITTLE TOWER S T LONDON ; a folding fruitwood 32½in. rule in eight sections; a French folding boxwood metre rule in ten sections, stamped OC and 252 with a picture of clasped hands; an English mahogany and ivorine "UNIQUE" UNIVERSAL SLIDE RULE with tables on the reverse for densities, strength and properties of metals, and permissible bearing pressures -- 30cm. (11¾in.) long ; a late 19th-Century American brass and boxwood folding 2x3in. rule/caliper stamped LUFKIN ; and four sections of a brass and boxwood cylindrical customs liquid measure (14)
