Eleven Pieces of Marcolini Period Meissen and Meissen-type Porcelain, Dresden, late 18th to early 19th century, a plate with a central profile portrait of Socrates, dia. 8 7/8; a plate with polychrome oblique flower sprays, dia. 9 1/2; two cups and saucers in an Indian Rock pattern, saucer dia. 5/4, cup ht. 2 1/2; a cup and saucer with yellow tulip sprays and russet rims, saucer dia. 5 3/8, cup ht. 1 7/8; a cup and saucer with polychrome flower sprays, saucer dia. 5 3/8; cup ht. 1 7/8; and a covered cup with navy ground, the lid with rosette finial and the opening lines of Horace's Odes 1.1 where he praises Maecenas, the cup with profile portrait of the latter, total ht. 3 3/4 in., all with first quality crossed swords mark.
