Title: Elaborately engraved 14K watch fob from the California Admission Day Festival 1910 Author: Place: Publisher: Date: 1910 Description: An elaborately engraved in 14KT and enamel, pin mounted on a ribbon to serve as a watch fob for the N.S.G.W. (Native Sons Of The Golden West) California Admission Day Festival dated 1910. This heavy 29.2 gram (31.103 grams/oz.)pin with ribbon and 14KT watch chain attachment has both the California Bear flag and the American flag in enamel and gold mounted above a 3 dimensional engraved scene of the Bay with a boat below the setting sun, flanked by California Poppies and a Bear. On the reverse is engraved “Jas. Rolph Jr. March 19, 1910”, the whole attached to a black grosgrain ribbon with the gold chain attachment. The piece itself is unmarked, but resides in a velvet lined leather box of George A. Desenfant Jeweler, 150 Post street, San Francisco. A classic example of fine California hand made gold jewelry.
