Across the Valley from atop Glacier Point, 3,254 feet up, a stream of glowing red fir bark embers lights up the darkness as it descends toward a ledge of 1,000 feet below. The embers are pushed over the Valley rim from a bonfire that was started two hours earlier. The firefall takes place at 9 o'clock. Roto - July 20, 1952". With Wide World stamp on verso. Condition: A few closed tears to Pillsbury El Capitan photograph, lower corners chipped (not affecting image), a few creases and instances of light wear; good.
