Illustrated throughout in color & black & white from artwork by Egon Schiele 30x29.5 cm (11¾x11½") full black leather lettered in red, slipcase. No. E33 of 50 copies of the de luxe edition, with two original rubber-cuts by Schiele, printed on a sheet of hand-made paper, inserted at title-page. Magnificent tribute to the art of Austrian painter Egon Schiele a protégé of Gustav Klimt and and early exponent of Expressionism. Schiele died at age 28 just before the end of the first world war, a victim of the Spanish flu pandemic. Lot Amendments Condition: Slipcase with minor wear and slight splits at corners; volume with a bit or rubbing to corners, joints and spine ends; very good or better in very good slipcase.
