Edouard Pail oil painting, "Earling Morning"
of gilt wood. The top of diapered, quatrefoil-form with a large central dished portrait plaque painted to depict Napoleon Bonaparte posed in military dress. Signed "Resch"; the reverse bearing the mark of Franz Dorfl, Vienna. Contained within ormolu mounts at the corners; four round portrait plaques each painted to depict a different likeness of Marie Joseph Rose Tascher. Each signed "Porkus"; the reverse impressed with the mark of C.M Hutschenreuther, Hohenberg, Bavaria. Between each plaque a porcelain lozenge painted to depict flowers and ribbons mounted within ormolu surrounds. The apron, diapered and cross- hatched, rests atop the cabriole legs with rocaille scrolls. Mounted atop the stretcher bars a square porcelain portrait plaque painted to depict a youthful likeness of Napoleon Francois-Joseph Charles, Napoleon's son, the Duke of Reichstadt; signed "Seller"; the reverse unmarked. 29.5"H x 18.5"W, Circa - 1900.
