Original illustration for 'The Magic Horse' in Stories from The Arabian Nights, published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1907. As illustrator for Hodder & Stoughton's Christmas gift book, Dulac succeeded Arthur Rackham who had illustrated Rip van Winkle and Peter Pan for the previous two years. To coincide with the publication of Stories from The Arabian Nights, The Leicester Galleries held an exhibition of the original watercolours, in the first of what would become yearly displays of Dulac's work.
