Beschreibung:

This early cast iron cigar cutter and match dispenser shows a patent date of July 19th, 1909, made by the Northwestern Novelty Co., Morris, Illinois, better known as a manufacturer of vending machines. The cigar cutter was designed to nip a cigar when the thumb lever was pressed at the front, simultaneously dispensing a match through the slot in the upper part of the front shield. If you utilized non-safety matches, when that match was pulled out, it would automatically light, allowing the patron to light their cigar. There is some surface oxidation and some areas of copper flash painting loss, as well as nickel plating to the front shield, however the cutter and match dispenser retains an early, worn patina. Proceeds from the sale of this lot are being donated by the consignor to the Fayette Regional Humane Society in Washington Court House OH. Condition: (Good). Item Dimensions: 7" x 8" x 5 - 1/2".
