Beschreibung:

This early cast iron cigar cutter with match dispenser has a patent date of July 19th, 1909, made by the Northwestern Co., Morris, Illinois. The cigar cutter was designed to nip your cigar when the thumb lever at the front was pressed, simultaneously dispensing a match through the slot in the upper part of the shield. If you used non-safety matches, the match would ignite when pulled out, allowing the patron to light their cigar. This particular model is called "The Yankee", one of the most popular of this kind of cigar cutter and match dispenser. There are some areas of oxidation to the mechanism, the outside of the cigar cutter has been cleaned and a protective sealant has been applied. It has a great appearance and early look. Proceeds from the sale of this lot are being donated by the consignor to the Fayette Regional Humane Society in Washington Court House OH. Condition: (Good). Item Dimensions: 7" x 8" x 5 - 1/2".
