Folio, uniform later 19th century morocco and cloth; rubbed, worn and defective. With: 77 (of 82) plates in the first volume; 69 (of 70) plates on 55 leaves in the second volume. Moderate foxing and dust smudging virtually throughout - but images most often affected more lightly, plate nos. 12, 36, 37, 40, 54, 69, and 71 in the first volume affected by dampstaining, scattered small chipping at corners or edges of several plates in both volumes. Lacking plate nos. 73, 74, 76, 77, and 79 in the first volume - all landscape engravings; lacking plate 70 in the second volume, "Adam & Eve" after Albrecht Durer. Title page and content leaves supplied in "facsimile" in the first volume. Ex-library: perforated stamps on title pages, ink stamps on "contents" leaves in each volume, other library markings on endpapers. Plates free of library markings. Sold with all faults.
