Early 20th century Aspreys of London leather and wicker sewing basket/box, the leather covered three-section hinged lid inset with a white metal monogram, opening to a mauve silk lined fitted interior, two handles to side (one currently detached), 41cm long x 11cm high x 29cm deep Condition Report One of the carry handles is detached (but present although it is missing the brown leather fitting), the central hinged cover is functioning but the leather is torn and it is loose, the leather tops are slightly worn at the edges, the purple silk lining is loose at base and elsewhere and is worn, the two flanking compartments are in relatively good order, the lock is not functioning and there is no key. The basket itself is ok, there are some minor losses and wear.
