Approx. 12 x 20 in. Printed in Chillicothe, 1 Nov. 1818. Listing lands from the Ohio River north to about Columbus, then east (Adams, Highland, Pike, Ross, Picaway, Franklin, Delaware, Fairfield, Licking, Knox, Greene and Clinton counties). Ohio became the 17th state in 1803, with Chillicothe as the capital. The capital was moved to Columbus in 1816, but Chillicothe was still a significant town, and being on the river, a "gateway" to part of the state. In the rapidly growing state, very little land is listed in the 3 major cities - Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland - other than a few outlots around Columbus. Note on verso for recipient to please show ...the one in the pamphlet form to such of your friends as may be interested in the purchase of western lands, and causing the other to be posted up at some convenient tavern or other public place.... Condition: Folds, some toning along same. Significant damage to right margin, but does not extend to print area (there was an extensive margin when printed).
