February 2, 1955. Addressed to Mr. King V. Hostick from the Herbert Georg Studio, thanking him for sending a couple sets of "magnificent pictures of Abraham Lincoln." The TLS is framed together with a photograph of Abraham Lincoln, 8.5 x 10.75 in., not examined outside of frame but possibly an example that was printed ca 1950s-1970s from a negative owned by King V. Hostick at the Herbert Georg Studio, Springfield, IL, from the original negative by Alexander Hesler taken at Springfield, IL, June 3, 1860. Matted and framed under "Tru Vue" conservation glass. Accompanied by original White House envelope including Hostick's typed address. Overall, 16.5 x 21.75 in. A framed photograph of Eisenhower visiting the Lincoln Memorial in February of 1953 accompanies the lot. The photo measures 5.5 x 8 in. (sight), and is matted and framed under "Tru Vue" conservation glass, overall, 9.25 x 12.25 in. Condition: Expected fold in TLS, otherwise signature in strong condition. Both items nicely matted and framed for display.
