Collation: a 10 b- 8 s-z 8 & 8 A-H 8 I 6 (a1r blank, a1v dedication by Aloisius to Petrus Ferriz, a2r text, I5r tabula, I6v blank). 280 leaves. 49 lines, double column. Type: 2:83R. 3- to 6-line initial spaces with guide-letters left blank. (Marginal extremities of final 2 pages repaired, scribbles in final blank verse, very occasional light marginal foxing.) Seventeenth-century vellum-backed paper boards. Provenance : early foliation, occasional marginal annotations washed. An indispensable handbook to the symbolism of the Church ritual, both spiritual and physical. Duranti provided both a fundamental source for understanding the liturgy and an interpretation of a contemporary environment expressed in church architecture and ornament. This editon comes from the press of the second printer at Treviso and reprints H. Liechtenstein's, with whom he had collaborated on another book two years earlier.
