Swiss, mid-19th century. An early Ducommun Girod four-tune, key wind music box, serial no. 24717, having a left side door that folds down to reveal the key wind, a change/repeat lever, a start/stop lever and an instant stop lever, with an 8.125 inch cylinder and single comb, the case in stained rosewood with scroll inlay to lid. Includes wind key and printed tune list/operating instructions; ht. 5, lg. 14.75, dp. 6.25 in. Provenance: Property from the Irene and Theodore Leverett Collection Condition: Comb with teeth (114) all present and intact. Interior of lid has slight age crack that does not extend to the top. The top has some minor loss to trim inlay, otherwise all else in excellent working condition.
