THE ONLY ITALIAN EDITION of a French work first published in the mid-16th-century. Jacques du Fouilloux was a keen and experienced hunter: ‘The Vénerie caused a stir amongst sixteenth century huntsmen, and the numerous editions of it which appeared within one hundred years of the first publication show how its popularity was mantained’.
