Amantium Irae: Letters to Two Friends 1864-1867, one of 150 copies on paper, printed in red and black, frontispiece portrait, errata leaf at end, leather book-label of Haven O'More, original limp vellum by the Doves Bindery, spine titled in gilt, uncut, a fine copy preserved in modern cloth drop-back box by James Brockman, [Tidcombe DP33], small 4to, Doves Press, 1914. ⁂ "Printed in memory of Cobden-Sanderson's friends, Viscount Amberley, son of Lord John Russell and his wife, the former Kate Stanley. When the Amberleys died tragically young, Cobden-Sanderson was made guardian of their two sons, Frank and Bertrand Russell. Cobden-Sanderson and Amberley were friends at Cambridge, and later Cobden-Sanderson and Lady Amberley became so close that a rumour arose that Coden-Sanderson was Bertrand's father".
