Contemporary green morocco, the sides with gilt rule and scrolling foliate border, the upper side titled in gilt, gilt edges, moiré style endpapers (skilfully rebacked preserving the original spine). Provenance : Alexander II of Russia (bookplate). FIRST EDITION. ALEXANDER II'S COPY, IN GREEN MOROCCO. Rare: WorldCat locates only one copy, the Elagin Palace copy at the Library of Congress.
