Folio, 307 x 200 mm., contemporary calf, blind arabesque devive in center of covers, lacks ties, rebacked, recent red morocco gilt-lettered label, a few minor marginal stains, brown stain to lower outer corner of some 60 leaves (not affecting text), last page a bit dust-soiled, otherwise a relatively large, unsophisticated copy. FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH, translated by Henry Lyte from the French version of Clusius (rather than Dodoens's Dutch original).
