Original pictorial grey cloth, blocked in black, spine lettered in black, ORIGINAL PRINTED DUST JACKET (spine panel slightly chipped at head, short tear with slight loss on rear panel); cloth folding case. FIRST EDITION, IN THE VERY RARE ORIGINAL DUST JACKET. The Hunting of the Snark is considered "Charles's most magnificent literary creation after the Alice books" (Cohen, p. 43). Williams-Madan-Green-Crutch 115 ("a few copies of the book have been recorded in a grey printed dust-wrapper").
