Documents 1544-1695, a good selection including 1662 Treasury Warrant signed by Thomas Wriothesley, Earl of Southampton authorising transfer of £17,450 to the Paymasters of the Dunkirk garrison, the same year in which the town was sold back to the French for £180,000; 1625 warrant, 1695 document for the award of salvage monies to Jacques Marin for a Genoese ship captured and towed to Livorno, 1593 document concerning measures of salt in Spain, 1622 (c.) account from John Rollok, the Master of the Royal Barge, for the carriage of King James I on the River Thames, a receipt mark for £47/12/- is on the reverse; 1657 grant of probate for land at Honiton in Devon, the top showing decorative "Oliver Lord Protector" inscription.
