Diocese of YORK. Manuscript on paper, 'A Booke of the Valuation of all Dignities, Prebends, and other spirituall Promotions, within the Diocese of Yorke', n.d. [c.1600], the livings listed under York Cathedral (the Dean and Chapter), the city churches in York, and then the deaneries of Ainsty, Craven, Pontefract, Doncaster, Buckrose, Dickering, Holderness, Harthill and Hull with Beverley, Bulmer, Cleveland, Ryedale, Nottingham, Bingham, Newark and Retford, and the collegiate church and peculiar jurisdiction of Southwell, the values of the benefices ranging from £1,610 for the archbishopric to £4 for a living such as Osbaldwick [near York], the first pages annotated c.1625 with the holders of the benefices, showing for example John Cosin as Archdeacon of the East Riding, in Latin, title and 24 pages, folio , later pagination in red ink (marked browning and staining especially to lower margin, leading to some losses to title page)

Elizab: xlj° demised by lease', 18 April 1599, listing the lands in alphabetical order with details of the leases, followed by 'Thinges belonging the fabricke of the same Chath: [ sic ] Church Received and answered by the clarke of the workes therof' and 'Thinges belonging to the free gramer Schoole in the horse faire: whereof the deane and Chapter are Patrones', in English, 8 pages, folio , later pagination in red ink, docketed on blank end paper (minor browning to right margin) a further pagination numbered '1356-1390' running through both works, 19th-century half calf with marbled boards, spine gilt with crested 'FFF' monogram and red morocco lettering piece (some light wear).
