London: Chapman and Hall, May 1864-November 1865. 20 parts in 19, 8vo, original green pictorial printed wrappers, uncut, all parts rebacked, lower edge of part 1 front wrapper cut down, tear in part 1 front wrapper repaired on verso, slight chipping or fraying to edges of wrappers of some other parts, brown half morocco folding case. FIRST EDITION IN ORIGINAL PARTS, 40 wood-engraved plates by Marcus Stone ( a small tear to plate, a few other plates lightly spotted ), with the Our Mutual Friend Advertiser in each part and virtually all of the other inserted advertisements and slips (except for a slip lacking in part 14) noted in Hatton & Cleaver, pp. 345-370 (two of the ads in this set are variants).
