A VERY FINE COPY OF THE FIRST APPEARANCES of A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens numbers 1-31, and The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins, numbers 32-71. It also includes a number of sketches by Dickens which afterwards appeared in book form as The Uncommercial Traveller . The following ads are laid-in to the following numbers: ad for the discontinuance of Household Words on yellow paper in no.4; ad for English Woman's Domestic Magazine (4pp.) in no.56; Railway Tracts. No. 11 "I Have My Ticket" (4pp.) in no.58. VERY SCARCE IN UNBOUND ORIGINAL PARTS: according to American Book Prices Current , the last copy in unbound parts to appear at auction was the Slater copy, sold Christie's New York, 12 February 1981, lot 291.
