Housed in brown morocco pull-off case by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, with Dickens's lion monogram, and green watered silk folding chemise; rubbed with some loss. Contemporary full brown calf, morocco lettering-pieces to spines, edges marbled; rubbed with some loss. PROVENANCE: Charles Dickens (bookplates to front pastedowns). These volumes are from a set of the work presented to Dickens during his American visit in 1842. They were presumably the gift of Prof. Wigglesworth, on the occasion of Dickens's visit to Boston.
