London: Printed and Published for the Author, by Bradbury and Evans, 1846. [AND] The Battle of Life. A Love Story. London: Bradbury & Evans, 1846. [AND] The Haunted Man and the Ghost’s Bargain. A Fancy for Christmas-Time . London: Bradbury & Evans, 1848. Together, 5 volumes. 8vo (6 1/4 x 4 inches; 160x100 mm). The Christmas Carol with hand-colored plates. Later uniform polished tan calf by Tout, covers ruled and stamped in gilt, spines in six compartments with raised bands, spine stamped in gilt and with burgundy and black morocco labels lettered in gilt, a.e.g. Housed in a cloth slipcase. Condition : Restoration along the joints, the front joint to the Christmas Carol cracked. handsome, complete set of first editions of dickens’s christmas books. The Christmas Carol a second issue.
