This lot features debris and ephemera related to the disaster collected by Charles Frederick Fleming of the Lakehurst Navy ground crew. 1. Girder fragment, 6 by 1 ½ inches, with three uniform holes, green paint, significant charring to surface. 2. 2 Documents Signed of C.E. Rosendahl as Commander of the U.S. Navy, 2 pp, folio and 4to, Lakehurst, NJ, May 8 and June 30, 1937, commending Charles Frederick Fleming for his performance during the disaster, pages creased, soiled and thumbed. 3. Scrapbook of newspaper clippings of Hindenburg disaster, approx. 70 pp, paper darkened and brittle, some leaves loose, edges chipped and cut. See illustration.
