Condition: internally clean; very short split to upper joint and one small area of rubbing to upper cover of vol. I, minimal shelfwear . Each set bound in fine contemporary French calf, spines tooled in gilt with 5 raised bands, red lettering labels, gilt-turn ins, all edges stained red, marbled endpapers. Provenance: Initials "A. P." to verso of front free endpaper; M. Rodolph de Castella; La Comtesse R. de Castella (bookplates).
