DAVIS, JEFFERSON Autograph letter signed, single page of a folded sheet of stationery with a blind-stamped coat of arms, the integral leaf with address, written to the Honorable Isaac Toucey, the Secretary of the Navy, dated March 20, 1857, Washington D.C. 8 x 6 1/8 inches (20.5 x 15.5 cm); 16 lines, signed at foot. Usual folds, overall in fine condition. A letter introducing a Mr. William Wall to Toucey "from personal acquaintance of many years to commend him to your personal consideration."
