Beschreibung:

D'APRÈS ADOLPHE MOURON CASSANDRE (1901-1968) JE SUIS CHARLIE / LE PLUS FORT. 2015. 27 1/2x39 1/2 inches, 70x100 1/4 cm. Condition A. Paper. Numbered 6/20 in pencil. January 7, 2015, like September 11, was a tragic day for western democracies. Terrorists killed the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo , the most influential satirical French weekly magazine. There was a worldwide outpouring of outrage, grief and support, and in solidarity, the phrase "Je Suis Charlie" began appearing around the world in all different forms, on everything from buttons and bags, to t-shirts, posters and more. Given the strength and power of graphic design to deliver a message, two members within the international poster community had the idea to associate the current phrase of solidarity with one of the icons of the free press: A.M. Cassandre's L'Intrans . The forceful combination of the words and image make the profound message that much stronger. With the full support and agreement of Cassandre's estate a limited number of these posters were printed.
