DANIELL (William) and Richard Ayton : A VOYAGE ROUND GREAT BRITAIN undertaken in the summer of the year 1813, London, 1814-26 8 vols. in 4, 4to (365 x 260mm), aquatint dedication, 308 hand-coloured aquatint plates, a few with borders filled in grey wash, tissue guards, red half morocco , spines gilt, g.e., by Charles Lauriat & Co, Boston, (lightly rubbed, head and foot of spines neatly repaired), bookplate of Mildred Davey Abbey Scenery 16; Tooley 177 'A magnificent series of plates, almost all of equal quality. Valuable as a record and exquisite in its presentation. The most important colour plate book on British Topography' (p.157). This copy is without the index map, issued separately, and the uncoloured plate Kemaes Head. The title to vol. VII is dated 1826; both Abbey and Tooley record a date of 1824 for this volume. (4)
