Decorative three-color titles. 255 plates, 47 mounted and colored, numerous illustrations. Original pictorial wrappers (spines of vols. I and III weak, some other light wear); publisher's boxes with paper spine labels (one probably later). FIRST EDITION, limited to 510 copies. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY D'ALLEMAGNE on the half-title to Maurice Duchesne, and with his calling card laid-in. The edition included ten copies on "papier Imperial du Japon," 250 numbered copies on "papier velin," and 250 unnumbered copies on the same paper reserved for the author. The present set appears to be one of the author's reserved copies. (4)
