Lot of 26 daguerreotype portraits of men, women, and children, most of which are housed in half or full pressed paper cases. Sixth and ninth plates primarily comprise the collection, including a charming sixth plate of two young boys in matching jackets, posed with mouths agape. Other images of note include those of an stately, balding gentleman in a dark suit; a pair seated women wearing dresses with wide, white collars; and an older man with dark eyes and longer hair, possibly Native American. Lot completed by an interesting pair of daguerreotypes, one half and one quarter plate, featuring a young woman whose hair is styled in face-framing curls. In the larger of the two images, she appears seated by herself, while in the second, she is presented holding a book and small purse and is posed next to a man, likely her husband.
