.22 caliber, 23.5" octagonal barrel, S/N 55106A. The barrel is fitted with a Lyman blade front sight and a split dovetail rear sight. A Winchester proof mark is stamped on the top of the frame, camouflaged by the engraving. According to the Lind family, the frame was engraved by Waffen-Bock of Frankfurt Germany in the 1950's. The frame features detailed Germanic floral pattern engravings on the top, underside, triggerguard and tang, with a circle punch background throughout. The sides of the frame also feature flowing Germanic floral vines, with game scenes in an oval border. The left side features an engraved scene of a hound pursuing a rabbit. The right side features a predatory bird attacking its prey. Interestingly, an German castle can be seen in the background of the scene. A fish fin pattern surrounds the border of the frame. Below the takedown screw is engraved Waffen-Bock Frankfurt/M Germany. The engraver is unknown, however there is an engraved T on the right side of the triggerguard directly behind the safety. The rifle features fancy grain walnut that was checkered, carved and stocked by Ernie Lind himself. The pistol grip buttstock features a bone grip cap. This rifle was commonly held by dot in promotional advertising photographs, one of which is included with the rifle. Accompanying the rifle is a notarized letter from the Ernie Lind Estate, signed by Mrs. Ernie Lind, attesting to the provenance of the rifle. Also included is a letter of authenticity from Jerry L. Murphey. Several other photographs from the Lind Estate depicting the rifle are included. Condition: The barrel and frame have an old re-blue finish, with nearly all of the finish remaining. The barrel shows some slight areas of spotting, but is in overall very good condition. The stock and forearm are in excellent condition. The bore and mechanics are excellent.
