Curved 35 3/4 inch blade with broad, shallow fuller and marked on the ricasso US/J.P.G., the reverse marked N.P. Ames/Cabotville/1847. Brass three bar hilt with leather and brass wire-wrapped grip. Iron two-ring scabbard. Condition: Clean blade showing some very minor spotting and several small nicks to edge. Fine hilt, the grip with hairline cracks to either side. Scabbard with smooth grey metal. See Illustration
