FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY INSCRIBED BY CRUIKSHANK TO CAPTAIN GRINDLAY: 'with many thanks for his highly interesting and splendid work on Indian scenery, costume, etc.' Grindlay, a self-taught amateur artist, went to India in 1803, aged 17.
