'Between 1720 and 1722 Croxall edited for John Watts the bookseller, A Select Collection of Novels in six volumes, comprising short stories mostly translated from French, Italian, and Spanish; the dedications, written by Croxall, were all to prominent ladies' (ODNB). The first volume includes 'The Jealous Estremaduran', from the Novelas ejemplares of Cervantes.
