FIRST EDITION: "EXCEEDINGLY RARE" (Holmes) supplement to the Account of the Russian Discoveries, published 7 years after the first two editions. Coxe spent some considerable time in Russia, and notes in the advertisment to the supplement: "The author would have arranged, at a more early period, the following Comparative View, which seems necessarily connected with his former publication on the Russian Discoveries; if he had not been absent from England when Cook's Voyage first made its appearance; and if continued travels and avocations had not prevented him from consulting those books, charts, and manuscripts, which the examination of so intricate a subject required."
