'Duplicate' docketing, carried outside of the mails by an Adams Express courier on the packet boat New Orleans , the cover missed the addressee and was enclosed in an outer buff envelope with blue embossed 'Adams & Co., American & European Express, Melbourne, N.S.W.' corner card on the flap and re-directed to Sydney, ms. '4' due mark, 'Melbourne, Victoria OC * 31 1853' crowned oval pmk. and Sydney crowned circle receiving backstamp, the initial cover is stained from the 'waxy' content of the special paper used to record the duplicate message, OTHERWISE VERY FINE, A VERY RARE COMBINED USE COMPRISING BOTH THE U.S. AND AUSTRALIAN OFFICES OF THIS MAJOR EXPRESS COMPANY est.
