cover 1949 (7 June) envelope to U.S.A. marked "ordinary post" , bearing Money Order $200,000 on $1,000 vertical strip of four and a single tied by Kiukiang postmarks and franked at $1,000,000 Gold Yuan for the 10c. Silver Yuan rate. An extremely rare usage of this Gold Yuan stamp within the Silver Yuan period, shortly before the liberation of Kiukiang. Less than ten airmail covers are known with this franking. This is the only recorded example sent by ordinary surface mail. It may well be the earliest known usage of this stamp on any cover. Photo
