cover 1885 (Jan) -87 (April) envelopes (9) ex the "F.H. Merceron Burton" correspondence comprising letters from London to Burton (7) each bearing an 1884 5d. green, two with enclosed letters and several redirected, showing many interesting transit c.d.s. including two with faint "BURMESE FIELD/SUB.P.O." (numbers illegible), and 1885 and 1887 envelopes from Burton at Thayetmyo and Kyaumyang respectively to his mother in London with 3½a. and 4½a. rate frankings cancelled by "R" in circle of bars and showing despatch c.d.s., the latter believed to be the only recorded during the period of the war.
